Introduce yourself

Hello, I am Elenora, a stained glass artist based in Singapore with extensive experience overseas. I first encountered stained glass-making in 1983 at the age of 23 and picked it up as if I was born for it. I have worked in British Columbia, Canada, creating glass art for North American clients of diverse ethnicities and I have also restored century-old stained glass windows for churches.

To me, Home is…

a feeling of love, truth, authenticity, gentleness and kindness. Where possible, choose to forgive and restart as it is self-empowering and life-giving. Only the strong are capable of forgiving.

What does this craft mean to you?

For me, stained glass reflects the transient beauty all around us – the light that filters through those coloured panels breathes in sync with the mood of the sky, changing the vibration of colours ever so softly to mesmerise any onlooker.  The making of the stained glass art itself reflects the importance of patience and knowing when to let go as the craftsman has to adapt to the behaviour of the glass and work within its qualities to achieve their desired effect.

About ARTGLASS

ARTGLASS was founded by Elenora Koh as she sought to start her own practice in Singapore following decades of hands-on experience locally and overseas. The studio offers a wide range of services from bespoke creations for residential homes, institutions, commercial spaces to restoration of stained glass windows for some of Singapore’s oldest churches. For Elenora, light represents truth and knowledge and stained glass is her way of bringing that light into the lives of others.
