Meet Joy and Alex!

Alex Chang

Hello everyone, I am Alex Chang from the photography group – The Sunseekers! I started doing street and macro photography as early as 2011 but started photographing the sunrise more recently in 2015. I enjoy sunrise photography because every sunrise is different. We cannot control how the sunrise changes every passing minute, so capturing that split second is very special to me. I am always captivated by the variety of compositions and colours that our group captures on our weekly sessions!

I have known the Sunseekers for more than 7 years now and I cherish this community we have built!  Beyond our weekly meet-ups, I enjoy our makan and chit-chat sessions! The Sunseekers is more than just capturing the sunrise – it is about the people and the community we have built over these years!

Joy Lee

Unlike some of the more well-equipped photographers, I use my camera phone to capture sunrises and sunsets. However, don’t be fooled by this simple device! I can experiment with different tools creatively such as steel wool to enhance my photographic practice and produce unique compositions and effects.

I have been with the Sunseekers for almost 3 years. Joining this photography community has brought me closer to a group of people whom I would have never met! Our group is more than just photographing the sunrise as it is the people and community that make it so enjoyable! I cannot wait to show you some of my tips and tricks but also introduce you to this home-grown community this coming festival!
