Meet Mervyn!

Hello everyone, I am Mervyn! I have been living in Pasir Ris for over 30 years and I started ‘birding’ during the pandemic. What draws me to ‘birding’ is the surprise factor where you can never expect what you are going to see. You may come looking to photograph a certain species but nature may surprise you with another. There is an unpredictability to it and I have the most fun when I surrender my expectations to nature and appreciate whatever is there on that day.

‘Birding’ has also helped me make new friends and brought me closer to my neighbours in Pasir Ris! We share our sightings, our equipment and most importantly, our stories and experiences through this common interest. I cannot wait to bring you around Pasir Ris Park to share with you more about the birdwatching community here and some photography tips and tricks this coming festival!
