What you’ll do:
Much more than just a place to cycle and trek, Pulau Ubin is an offshore island brimming with kampongs, stories and communities. Meet Ah Teck and Mr Choo on the different tour days as they bring you around their island home, sharing their personal recollections of the past and present. Don’t miss out on this exclusive chance to see Pulau Ubin through the eyes of the islanders!

My name is Richard Kuah, a Singapore tourist guide. I especially love to explore the offshore islands around the mainland, hence my specialization in nature and island tours. I’ve been on at least 20 of Singapore’s offshore islands – can you name them all?

Pulau Ubin literally translates to Granite Island and pays homage to the island’s history as a quarry. There are actually multiple quarries on the island – the most iconic and largest one probably being Ubin Quarry which you can catch an incredible view of from the top of Puaka Hill. Be sure to ask the islanders about their experiences with the quarry when you join us on the tour – they will have plenty to share about the island’s rich history!

Vaccination Requirements
Participants must be fully vaccinated.
Attire
Participants are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants and covered shoes for hiking/trekking.
What to bring
- Participants should bring along an umbrella/poncho, hand sanitiser, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) because we will be using radio guides for the tour.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
- Individuals with seasickness should carry their medicine along
