What you’ll do:
Take a stroll around the idyllic St John’s Island with Fawzi and Rahim, ex-residents of St John’s Island, and Corliss, our friendly guide, as they bring you on an intimate adventure around their childhood playground. Find out how St John’s Island remains a home to the ex-islanders even though they are now relocated to the mainland. The tour will take you across the island, covering sites such as the water tank, the old quarantine station and many more! It will be a day of sun, sand, sea and stories for all to enjoy!

Hello everyone, I am Corliss and I’ve been guiding in Singapore for the past 3 years. I love to explore whenever I have time, be it rediscovering familiar places around Singapore or encountering new cultures and sights overseas!
To me, Home is…

Tell us something interesting about this island!
Very relevant to today – St John’s Island was actually used as a quarantine facility for new arrivals in Singapore in the late 1800s. That means most people who eventually settled down in Singapore then had all visited St John’s Island at some point in time, which is quite funny considering how very few Singaporeans visit the island today!
Vaccination Requirements
Participants must be fully vaccinated.
Attire
Participants are encouraged to wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants and covered shoes for hiking/trekking.
What to bring
- Participants should bring along an umbrella/poncho, hand sanitiser, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) as radio guides will be used for the tour.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
- Individuals with seasickness should carry their medicine along.
Parking availability
Limited parking is available at Marina South Pier.
