What you’ll do:
The Senoko Fishery Port boasts a richer history than meets the eye. Almost 80% of the stall owners and fishmongers there are of Teochew descent, hailing from the now-gone Kangkar village. Come and experience the warmth of Senoko Fishery Port in the cool of the night as we meet this tight knit community and hear their stories of perseverance and change!
Introduce yourself
My name is Richard Kuah, a Singapore tourist guide. I especially love to explore the offshore islands around the mainland, hence my specialisation in nature and island tours. This festival, I’ll be taking participants to Senoko Fishery Port after hours to identify some seafood and also get up-close and personal with the port’s Teochew fishing community!

What is the difference in this place between day and night?
The action only starts at night in Senoko Fishery Port when the seafood is unloaded at around 1am. The fish come from a variety of sources such as from Jurong Fishery Port or from the causeway.

Vaccination Requirements
- Participants must be fully vaccinated.
- Participants must download and install TraceTogether for contact tracing.
Attire
Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably, and to wear covered shoes that have soles with good grip.
What to bring
- Participants should bring along their physical NRIC, which is mandatory for entry into the premises.
- Participants should also bring along an umbrella and a bottle of water.
- Participants are also encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) as radio guides will be used for the tour.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
Parking availability
Parking is unavailable at event premises. The nearest carpark to Sembawang MRT is at Sun Plaza (30 Sembawang Drive, Singapore 757713).
