Have you ever heard of the Little Indonesia enclave in River Valley? David will be bringing you there to introduce his favourite food spots and share the history of the Indonesian community in Singapore!

What you’ll do:
Uncover the history of the Indonesian community with David who will be retelling their stories and experiences of integrating into Singapore! Join him for a tour across a variety of sites from specialty supermarkets and restaurants to one of the Indonesian community’s places of worship – all nestled within the central region of Singapore!

Food is non-halal and not suitable for vegetarians. Food contains eggs and gluten.

Salam kenal teman-teman! I am David, an Indonesian born Singaporean. I have been in Singapore since 2004 so I regard this island as my home. A fun fact about me is that many of my Indonesian friends call me Vid – want to know why? Come and join My Little Indonesia tour!
To me, Home is…
where my heart is and a place where I feel safe. A place where I can freely express my hobby and skills and share with the people around.
What is your favourite thing about Singapore?
Singapore is a very practical country. Things move pretty fast and it’s always very efficient. No one is above the laws. While there may be red tape sometimes, these are often ‘untaped’ easily! And of course, the ‘Lo Hei’ tradition – something in Singapore I absolutely love!
Attire
- Participants should be dressed respectfully in smart casual (i.e. collared shirt, long pants, covered shoes). Sleeveless attire, shorts/miniskirts or sandals are strictly not allowed. Participants are also encouraged to wear comfortable shoes for walking.
- Participants will be denied entry if they dress inappropriately.
What to bring
- Participants should bring along an umbrella/poncho, hand sanitiser, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) because we will be using radio guides for the tour.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
