While many Singaporeans head to bed, the night is when the port comes to life as fishing boats come in with their freshest catch. Hear all about the fishy business that goes behind-the-scenes at Jurong Fishery Port in this after hours tours by veteran guide May! Identify different species of fish, get yourself a good deal on seafood and, most importantly, immerse yourself in the enthusiastic stories of the tightly-knit fishing community!

Hello there! My name is May and I have been guiding for more than 40 years (a very long time!). What has kept me going is my love of curating and conducting heritage trails and how guiding always allows me to meet new people! I’m always around taking pictures with my phone – my preferred way of documenting my memories!

Where I relax over a cup of tea watching my favourite Law & Order and CSI
What is the difference in this place between day and night?
Unlike most places that function mostly in the day, Jurong Fishery Port only comes alive at night! After 11:00 p.m. you will see stall holders busy handling the fish from a big basket and throwing them to smaller baskets according to their size and weight. It is quite amazing to see them process and pack the fish so quickly to be collected and then delivered all across Singapore!
Vaccination Requirements
- Participants must be fully vaccinated.
- Participants must download and install TraceTogether for contact tracing
Attire
Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably, and to wear covered shoes that have soles with good grip.
What to bring
- Participants should bring along their NRIC, which is mandatory for entry into the premises.
- Participants should also bring along an umbrella and a bottle of water.
- Please also ensure that the TraceTogether application is installed on your phones.
- Participants are also encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) as radio guides will be used for the tour.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.

Parking is unavailable at event premises. The nearest carpark to Lakeside MRT is at 517B Jurong West Street 52, Singapore 642517.
