Hello everyone! I am Bishop Pitirim. I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, and arrived Singapore in 2003 at the age of 20. Before coming to Singapore, I had never been to church before. I found my first time extremely inspiring and decided to make the church my spiritual homeland. Today, I serve as bishop (highest spiritual rank) for Orthodox Christian community in Singapore.
where you can be yourself and embrace all your strengths and weaknesses. Home is a place where you heal and where you feel love.
Many of us at the Russian Orthodox Church face the challenge of living far from our homes and experience loneliness, feebleness or despondency at some point. The church seeks to extend a helping hand to those in need in our daily work and practice to build a network of support and friendship.
The Russian Orthodox Diocese of Singapore was established on 12 October 2007 after a 2003 tour of Southeast Asia convinced Metropolitan Kirill (now Patriarch of Moscow, the highest authority in the Russian Orthodox Church) that an official religious community was needed for the Russian diaspora to cohere towards. In 2014, the Church moved to its present location at 110 Highland Road. Today, a larger premise is currently under construction at the upcoming Russian Cultural Centre.
Parking is unavailable at the event premises. The nearest carpark to the Church is at 201-204 Hougang Street 21, Singapore 530204. (Approx. 10 min walk)
