Meet Your Host
Hadi Osni is a researcher with a focus on cultural heritage, memory, and architecture, particularly within Malay and Baweanese communities. He earned his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore, where his research centered on reconstructing lost architectural heritage using the memories of former residents. His work often bridges traditional practices with contemporary perspectives, exploring themes such as community resilience, mutual aid, and the cultural significance of everyday spaces. Beyond his academic pursuits, Hadi actively engages in community heritage projects.
In this session, Hadi will draw on his extensive research to offer insights into Muslim funeral practices, shedding light on their cultural context and evolving traditions.
