My Gelang Patah with HDB and Condo Precast Fabricators Woh Hup and Aurum

Discover how homes are built before reaching Singapore in this rare tour of Aurum Precast’s massive prefab factory in Gelang Patah!

About the Programme

What you’ll do:

Ever wondered how our homes in Singapore are built even before they reach our shores? Join us on a cross-border journey to Gelang Patah, where Aurum Precast—one of the region’s largest precast facilities—quietly powers much of Singapore’s housing landscape. This early morning tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the factory that fabricates entire building components, from bathrooms to staircases, long before they’re craned into place back home.

You’ll walk through vast production halls and open yards where concrete is cast into walls, beams, and modules using precision moulds and automated machinery. Hear from engineers and staff about how these pre-fabricated units—known as PPVC (Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction)—are designed, tested, and cured on-site. From bay windows to entire bathrooms, these modules are built complete with finishes, wiring, and even tiles before being transported to Singapore, ready to be stacked and assembled into HDB flats, schools, and MRT stations.

See up close how logistics and quality control come together, and learn how the factory has adapted to meet the demands of both public housing and large-scale infrastructure. Along the way, you’ll gain new perspectives on the scale and innovation that goes into the homes we live in—well before the first brick is laid on Singapore soil.
