Hello everyone! I am Indah and I am from Pekalongan, Indonesia. Due to my husband’s job, I have lived in many different countries, such as Switzerland, and the United States. My experience living abroad has exposed me to many different cuisines and I can recognise different peoples’ palates. As a home cook that was living abroad, I longed for a taste of Indonesia and was always searching for replacements in those overseas supermarkets.
where I feel comfortable and can be myself effortlessly.
I chose these dishes because they remind me of my home in Indonesia. I will be serving tempe, megono, squid ink and krupuk (Indonesian crackers) served over a traditional banana leaf. This combination has been a favourite of mine since I was a child. Megono, which is made of jackfruits grated coconut, ginger torch, herbs and spices, is my hometown specialty which I am excited to share. Tempe is a more common Indonesian food that has recently been popularised as an alternative protein source for vegetarians or vegans. Once you have tasted tempe, you will crave for it.
