What you’ll do:
Follow Kyanta back to a simpler time as we join him on a tour of Singapore’s last kampung village to find out what life was like before the modern era of high-rise flats! Soak in the lush greenery and relaxing atmosphere as Kyanta takes participants to interact with current residents of the village and find out their reasons for staying there. A nostalgic and heartwarming experience awaits at Kampung Lorong Buangkok!

Hello everyone! I am Kyanta Yap, a Singapore tourist guide! I have been guiding this tour in Kampung Buangkok for almost 1.5 years and in some ways, it has become my second home. Having spent many hours reaching out and befriending members of Lorong Buangkok, I am very proud to consider myself a part of this closely-knit community.
To me, Home is…
a place where our spectrum of emotions make sense.
What is your favourite thing about your home?
While the rest of Singapore changes with the times, Kampong Lorong Buangkok stands still. Traces of our childhood days are preserved within this space. When we look upon it, we are reminded of the roads we paved, the storms we braced, the memories we engraved. There is always something magical about this historic site that is living testimony of our journey as a nation. That magic in Kampung Lorong Buangkok ignites a flame in the heart of every visitor.

Attire
- Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably with covered shoes. Sleeveless clothes and singlets are allowed but not encouraged on this experience.
- Participants should also be mentally prepared for mosquitoes.
What to bring
- Participants should bring along an umbrella/poncho, hand sanitiser, insect repellent, and a bottle of water.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
Parking availability
- Parking is available at the Multi Storey carpark at Blk 998 Buangkok Crescent (998 Buangkok Crescent Singapore 530998). (Approx. 5 min walk to entrance of kampung)
