Take your tastebuds on a gastronomic journey in the historic Balestier! Fill your stomach with well-loved treats and your hearts with the stories of these stall owners operating in this district. From freshly baked bread and mouth-watering bak kut teh to savoury dumplings and herbal jelly, join us on a walk to witness the dedication of those working through the night to provide these comfort foods to Singaporeans!
WARNING: Please don’t take your dinner (and maybe lunch and brekkie) before the tour!

Hello everyone! I am Lora Lee and I have been guiding tours for the past 4 years. Guiding has been a great passion of mine. I would even say that ‘enthusiastic’ is my middle name.

What is the difference in this place between day and night?
For me, Balestier is the best supper spot at night with its hearty meals and relatively central location. During the day, it has some of the most wonderful local delights!

Attire
Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear covered shoes for walking.
What to bring
- Participants should also bring along an umbrella and a bottle of water.
- Participants are also encouraged to bring their own earphones (with a standard 3.5mm audio jack) as radio guides will be used for the tour.
- Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.
