Poon Sun Hay hails from a family with a long history of creating sachima, as his grandfather used to work in a teahouse specialising in such snacks in Sanshui. Sun Hay’s father later founded Pan Ji at the intersection of Sago Street and South Bridge Road. From the age of 12, Sun Hay began helping his father at Pan Ji while learning the craft of creating authentic handmade snacks. Now 68 years old, Sun Hay still creates his handmade snacks in the traditional way that his grandfather used to make them.
