Join us on a cosy evening as the wives of college-friends-turn-Siglap neighbours Tunula and Smita whip up delicious Bhutia momos (or dumplings) and Uttarankhand rajma masala (or mutton and kidney bean stew) and add an extra sprinkle of joy in their cosy kitchens.
Bhutia cuisine is heavily influenced by food in India and Nepal. During the dinner, you’ll have the pleasure of savouring Tunula’s homemade dumplings, accompanied with steamed rice. Smita will also be preparing flavourful curries from Uttarakhand, a state in Northern India. As Tunula embraces Singapore as her second home, she is eager to explore and connect with new people, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures. The event offers a unique opportunity to interact with these warm and welcoming hosts, forging connections and creating lasting memories.
Tunula is a mother of three kids. Hailing from the Northeastern part of India, specifically Darjeeling, is passionate about cooking Bhutia food. Her expertise lies in the art of creating delectable momo dumplings, along with other traditional dishes like chata, a meat dip. Tunula’s small project, “Leaves and Flushes,” is dedicated to promoting the tea leaves sourced from Darjeeling’s gardens, supporting small farmers and highlighting the rich flavours of the region. Bhutia food is known for its delightful blend of Nepali and Indian influences.
Smita Bisht is Tunula’s dear friend and practically family in Singapore. They met through their husbands, who were college mates! Smita, a full-time mother of two girls, resides in Mandarin Gardens. She cherishes the joys of cooking meals at home, exchanging food with Tunula on a regular basis. With her culinary expertise, Smita specialises in Uttarakhand cuisine. Her dedication to family and community shines through as she actively volunteers at her children’s school, nurturing a sense of connection and belonging.

Hailing from India, both Vandana and Radhika are mothers of a pair of inseparable playmates at a neighbourhood playground. Indulge in Vandana’s authentic Punjabi chole and Radhika’s traditional Gujarati dhokla as they serve up delicious homemade Indian cuisine using fresh and exotic ingredients.
