The Arabs are known for their hospitality and during this dinner, you’ll be treated to a feast where AN@S members will present their own unique family recipes! Khadijah will be preparing Shakshouka, a tomato-based dish with meat and vegetables. Huda will prepare Kacang Pool/Foul, a dish that fuses Malay and Peranakan influences within the community. Faridah will present her Chicken Kuzi, Shefa her Makhtoum, and Ragwan her Zalata. To complete the feast, we invite you to delight in a cup of Kopi Halia (Ginger Coffee), fresh fruits, and a delectable dessert known as Mouhalabia. She is inspired by her travels and studies in the Arab world and brings flavourful creations. Khadijah Alattas is an avid home cook with a flair for experimentation. She delights in the range of flavours of Arab, Malay, Pakistani, and Indian cuisines. Huda Aljunied develops her confidence in the kitchen through recreating Singaporean and Arab Peranakan dishes. Shefa Alsree infuses her scrumptious creations with love and creativity, drawing inspiration from generations-old recipes and culinary influences from Brunei and Dubai. Ragwan Aljunied shows her culinary prowess by whipping up a variety of cuisines, leaving guests craving for more.

Today, the Arab population in Singapore is numbered between 8,000 to 10,000. Within the Arab community, you’ll discover an incredible network of cousins and relatives and a strong sense of kinship among its members. There is a high emphasis on family values. Every significant moment becomes an opportunity for joyous gatherings and heart-warming connections. The Arab community weaves a vibrant tapestry of activities and celebrations, ensuring that there’s never a dull moment in their expressions. The contributions of both AN@S members and the wider community enrich the culinary landscape, creating a tantalising offering of delicious dishes. Many talented chefs, many of whom are AN@S members, will be coming together to offer an array of flavours that embody Arab hospitality and generosity.
