Fitri initiated her project after experiencing some financial difficulties in 2021. The support and donations she received from generous individuals inspired her to give back. As a shy mother of two and a professional wedding goodie bag planner, Fitri’s attention to detail and design skills led her to personally decorate the Blessing Booth, using items sourced from Carousell. This resident’s initiative has fostered stronger connections with her neighbours and the community.
Originally located outside her home, the Blessing Booth was relocated to a storeroom at the level 2 void deck for safety reasons, facilitated by the Town Council. Opening twice a month, the Blessing Booth attracts residents, inspiring others like Blessing Booth Canberra to follow suit. Despite challenges, such as handling large amounts of donations and managing blind clothing donations, Fitri perseveres. While she rarely meets donors in person, she has received remarkable items like ovens, electrical appliances, and TVs. After a temporary hiatus, Fitri reopened the Blessing Booth in May, ensuring her impactful work continues within the community.
