Meet the dedicated father-son duo Chang Chee Sin and Chang Chow Kiow, who manage their papaya farm with unwavering commitment. Chang Chee Sin, fondly known as Maggi due to his love for Maggi noodles, has been immersed in the farming industry for 14-15 years, while his father has been assisting him for seven years. Together, they handle every aspect of the farm, from planting and weeding to fertilising, watering, harvesting, and clearing, pouring their hearts into each step. Despite minimal machinery, their hard work and dedication shine through.
For Chang Chee Sin, setting up the plantation provided a sense of freedom that he cherishes. He has the autonomy to decide when to start and end his workday, relishing the ability to come to the farm in the mornings at his leisure, free from external control. He proudly considers himself one of those farmers who start their work as late as 10 or 11 am! Upon arriving at the farm, their routine includes watering the plants, particularly the smaller ones, on a weekly basis. Their deep passion for their craft drives them to devote their time and efforts to cultivating high-quality papayas while relishing the independence and fulfilment that comes with being papaya farmers.
